PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

The Automotive industry is moving more and more towards electric vehicles. We need to consider starting to plan charging station infrastructure for City Owned vehicles at various facilities. WA state is aiming towards banning New Gas engine vehicle after 2030-2035 even if this timeline doesn't happen the 3 large US Auto Manufactures are already starting to discontinue popular gas models and bring out many electric units.

RECOMMENDATION:

This may be one of the best examples of need for infrastructure vs timing of need. We can't convert to electrified vehicles before we have a place to charge them. The infrastructure takes a lot of time, work and money to get installed. Timing of when and how to do this needs to be considered. The City currently has 3 non-public chargers.
