PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

Storvik Park will be 50 years old in 2023 and the playfield, lighting and backstop are in need of repair to accommodate increased growth in Anacortes and with it, more use of the park. We are also holding more events at the park that require better access to utilities. We are planning on adding LED lighting at the field, access to power at each pole, a new backstop, new dugouts and field drainage.

REcommendation:

This is a project that would most likely require state funds with the city providing matching funds. Our recommendation is to make that match available at the time of the grant application.

PROJECT OBJECTIVES / STATUS:

We want to replace turf and amend the soil for drainage, replace the existing field lighting, electrical outlets as well as make improvements to the backstop and area around the scorer's booth.
