Project Information/Description
A Master Plan for the Chapman Ski Hill was completed in 2018. Due to the age and condition of the existing rope tows, replacement of both rope tows was listed as a priority. The project in 2022 provides for replacement and relocation of the little rope tow and lighting that is adjacent to the little rope tow to provide better service for both lessons and the park features. Amount requested is $735,000 which includes a 5% allocation to CIP Division.
Project Goal/Benefits
The replacement and relocation of the small tow rope at Chapman Ski Hill is supported by City Council Goals and specifically: ELSP: Expand Durango’s unique identity as a driver of enhanced quality of life and sense of place. Benefit of this project is to implement the Master Plan for the Chapman Hill, renovate worn and old tow systems for user safety, extending the life of the facility as well as increase visitation to the ski hill.
